This month’s prompt is change. My life has been filled with thoughts about change recently. I am trying to change my health and fitness. I am trying to change how vulnerable I am to storms of emotional self-destruction. I am trying to move forwards instead of just surviving.

Working on things I have been exploring in cognitive behavioural therapy sessions has helped me to change the way I respond to myself this week. Working hard on preparing and then going through with an interview has given me back a stronger sense of my own agency in my work life. Working hard on my physical well-being has been really positive for my emotional well-being.

Often I look for what is the problem and what would solve it. Obviously a lottery win would make a big change to my material circumstances but it wouldn’t really change me.

All of the positive change that has happened this week hasn’t come from outside me. It has all been changing the focus and the resources that I use from within me. Which has brought me to think…

Is it change or is it just a different aspect of me?

This is me and every day, I choose what aspects you see.

  1. Absolutely love this! We all have many roles – in each one we are exactly who we need to be at the time (imo) – this photo illustrates it beautifully x x x awesome! Ooo and it’s *very* sexy too 😉

  2. The image is absolutely stunning and supports your words beautifully. Damn brilliant!

As for the changes and feeling better… I am happy it’s all positive. We will hold hands in our mutual journey and lean on each other when needed.

  3. This is such a brilliant image Honey. I love how it illustrates perfectly the different ‘sides’ of yourself. You have on both sides just sometimes one is stepping out more than the other

  4. Ohhh – this is SUCH a brilliant shot!!! And holy shit I *love* those heels. I find too that physical activity helps my mental well-being immensely. What an empowering experience to realize that your positive changes are coming from within; an internal locus of control is associated with so many other good things. Glad that the CBT (!) is going well. <3

  5. As a shoe slut, I have to say I am IN LOVE with those blue Mary Janes!!

In regards to your words…I believe the deepest change comes from within – by embracing our truest selves.

  6. We have so many different facets, sometimes others are more prevalent, who knows if that a change or if it’s something that was already there just buried deeper.

As for the shoes, I love them both!
