Some times everything collides to make an already hot experience even hotter. In this case it was the addition of an audience to an already powerful idea.
In 2020, I shaved Jaffa’s head with a cut throat razor. I still think about that often, along with other thoughts about that razor. I don’t know if I am especially skilled at attracting people who are tempted by having their head shaved, or whether it is just luck but wonderful Bee asked me to shave their head too.
The act of shaving someone’s head is intimate and powerful. Being asked to do it makes me feel a whole range of emotions that are hard to describe. Let’s face it, it is definitely a deep indicator of trust to be asked to slide a sharp razor blade over the skin of their scalp.
Already charged with the power of Bee’s submission, yesterday had the added intensity of an audience of people who would watch every move and would be emotionally invested in the event. I wish I could bottle the atmosphere in that room.
