Content warning: perimenopause and pain

Life is tricky. We all evolve over time. Sometimes, we discover and develop new pleasures. Sometimes, we need to adapt to change.

I’ve always had a very reliable cunt. Responsive, strong, greedy, and wet. Reliable that is until recently. Perimenopause brings so much change and so many challenges. One of my least favourite changes has been my cunt becoming fragile. I have had days where I have been in tears with the pain from it. It was interesting to me that the pain wasn’t triggered by fucking. Maybe that still gets my juices flowing so much that it isn’t an issue. For me, the pain would come at random times, but it was definitely not linked to the rare times that I have partnered sex.

I arranged a doctor’s appointment and explained my story of woe. The doctor was fabulous and prescribed oestrogen pessaries to try.

They worked. Oh my, they worked. I can’t tell you how relieved I was to have my cunt back in working order. Such a tiny thing has made such a difference to me both physically and emotionally.

These tiny pills come with a launcher to deliver them to the deep zone where they need to go. Of course, my brain, in its overjoyed celebratory form immediately stopped calling them “oestrogen pessaries” and have renamed them “cunt grenades”.

I am now relieved to be more of the me that I recognise and am overjoyed that when I slide my fingers between my legs on a Sunday morning like today, I immediately feel the slick heat of my cunt and, more importantly the glistening welcome of touch.
