This month’s prompt from Molly is silhouette. I have to confess that I stared at the screen when I read it. My spirits sank because I knew it would be hard to do. So, being a ‘sensible’ person, I filed the challenge at the back of my mind and lived in hope that a bundle of inspiration, skill and opportunity would suddenly present itself.

It didn’t.

So here I am struggling to make anything work. I am in a house full of people with the occasional five to ten minutes that I can find an empty room. That makes trying to do anything that needs lighting really hard. A quick grab of photos and the lighting was either too bright or too dim. I have also proven that I haven’t a clue when it comes to photo editing software. I knew what I wanted to do with one of the pictures but I need to spend a lot more time learning how.

I have been very tempted not to post this week, but that would then break my success at posting a Sinful Sunday every week since I started this blog. So here goes with apologies for the graininess…

Life is a learning process and here is one thing that I definitely have a lot of scope for improvement. It might not be a technical success but there is still something that I like about it.

EDIT: When the lovely Molly saw my picture, she has very kindly processed it to clean it up. Here is the version that she sent to me. Thank you so much, Molly.

  1. There is something very mysterious to your image, drawing me closer to the screen, wanting to see more. Am glad you posted, even though you had so many difficulties to get opportunities to make photos.

  2. I love the blue light and the hint of your beautiful frame lingering in the darkness. I think you did a great job. I have sent you an email though and if you ever need any photo editing advice please do feel free to ask

  3. I know just what you mean about finding the prompt difficult . . . but I love the fact that you posted. AND actually I really like this photograph. We all see different things in photos don’t we . . . and I love this.

  4. I am so glad you liked the edit. It was a tough picture to work with as the lack of any white light meant it was very hard to retrieve any real structure in the shot but I like that you can now just make out your tattoo and the line of your spine running down your back

  8. In the first photo, I wasn’t sure what I was looking at but I was drawn to the blue light and the curve, then I scrolled down and saw the one Molly edited, and gasped as the outline of your hip came into view. Really stunning! And kudos for sticking to your posting goal!
