So, I am finally here on a proper holiday in the sun. I carefully packed everything I needed and, of course, a few just-in-cases. The journey was long but the hotel and the surroundings are gorgeous. The hotel staff are so helpful – although there have been a few moments of confusion as they thought I looked Italian and so rattled off a lot of information before I could explain that I wasn’t.
Today has been gorgeous. We went exploring the old town. Now, I’m laid in bed, trying to sleep but feeling very anxious about tomorrow. Anxiety is not a great travelling companion. It turns out that my anxiety packed all of its cases and has a plethora of ripe and juicy worry pots to spill into my brain.
I’m working hard in fighting my anxiety. I wish it had stayed at home. Hopefully, I can give it the slip tomorrow and live in these moments.
